After 2 years of uncertainty by the pandemic restrictions, Burapa Eastern Thai Cuisine & Bar in Sukhumvit soi 11, is finally back on track and set on its majestic journey to the East of Thailand and beyond, welcoming foodies along for a gastronomical Eastern Cuisine ride.
Burapa Eastern Thai Cuisine & Bar By Sri Trat originally opened in November 2019 but was delayed by the arrival of the pandemic now as Thailand is back in swing, the Burapa team has oiled their wheels and got the restaurant and bar back in motion – full speed ahead! And what a magical comeback it is!
The 2 years of chugging along slowly have not been spent in vain, Ack and Taam of the “Sri Trat family” return with their Signature A la Carte menu and new Special Menu “Journey To The WonderEast” which will begin on the 1st of December onwards. The bar team will also ramp up with more innovative cocktails.

The menu at Burapa Eastern Thai Cuisine & Bar is an eclectic mix of dishes curated by Burapa’s Culinary Director and Co-founder, Ack Wongwich Sripinyo, who explains, “The root of the cuisine at Burapa comes from my Mother’s Eastern Thai cooking teachings and some derived from iconic dishes from Sri Trat but they have been transformed from my own imagination into vibrant, playful dishes with delicate layers that remain to give bold and robust flavours”.
“Many of the dishes at Burapa are entirely new and of my invention, so I don’t think you will not find them anywhere else. The ingredients we source come directly from private farmers and fishermen from the East like Trat where I’m from or Rayong and some are from the NorthEast (Isan) of Thailand.
“You will discover that Eastern Cuisine is quite complex and multi-layered, with a long process and time to make in order to achieve the distinct Eastern flavours. A lot of this comes from secret family recipes, knowledge of past generations, and importantly from the rare or uncommonly used native ingredients of the East; organic fresh coconut water, wild oysters, jellyfish, nuts, native fruits, exotic roots and herbs, sugarcane sugar, and even roots of Mangrove trees”. After 6 years of relentless commitment and hard work, Haoma has been recognized by the Michelin Guide with an award of 1 Michelin Star and the coveted Michelin Green Star in the Michelin Guide Thailand 2023. Haoma’s efforts and commitment to sustainable practices with innovative urban farm ecosystems, and exceptional modern Indian Cuisine, curated by Chef and Owner Deepanker Khosla “Chef DK” and his team, have garnered international attention. Deepanker Khosla was a recipient of the Champions of Change Award for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021. Haoma also becomes the first and only Indian Restaurant in the World to be honored with a Green Star.
The Festive Menu at Haoma Bangkok has evolved from their latest menu which focused on showcasing the heritage roots and culture of Indian cuisine, based on the Royal Repast of India – Indian food as it was consumed and refined by the royal Indian families. The nawabs and Princes of Indian states paid heavy emphasis to cuisine and there is a lot to showcase from before colonisation.
The special Festive Menu is available at Haoma from the 21st of December 2022 to the 1st of January 2023 and is priced at 3990 ++ for Meat & Seafood or Vegetarian at THB 4590++, with wine pairing options available at 3450++.
The menu reflects a colorful depiction of the “Pink City” of Jaipur where Chef Deepanker Khosla started his career. Starting with a traditional royal appetizer of Mango with a fermented Chass Lassi flavored with cumin, mint, and chili. There’s also the Madras Crab Curry – Madras curry almost always comes from a packet at many Indian restaurants, Haoma, however, wanted to pay homage to this dish as part of the royal feast of Tamil Nadu by cooking it from scratch and serving it to our guests with local Andaman Sea Crab Lumps.
Lastly, the Samudra – Depicts the ocean in two dishes that come from the princely state of Goa where fishermen and locals savor the bounty of the sea in classics like Xacuti and Goan Fish Curry in Chef Deepanker’s modern Neo Indian Approach to cuisine.

Our luscious green lawn has always been popular with outdoor diners, so soon guests will be able to relax in sun-shaded areas with light-rain-proofed tables. For the festive season, we are introducing Sparkling Wine and an indulgent small-bites pairing to be enjoyed at leisure. The new landscape will be decorated with a larger (matured) Olive Tree with stone edgings and a long table will be available for outdoor dinner parties. SOM’S TABLE, an A La Carte, Carte Blanche seaside restaurant, is a rare and shining gem in Hua Hin.
If you don’t know Chef Som Jutamas Theantae by now, you will find out that her talent is one that serious foodies avidly follow for artistic fine cuisine but this time, her dishes are based on ‘by the sea’ fresh produce with a friendly and approachable taste and plating.
Chef Som now serves-up generous portions of succulent meats and piled-high fresh fish and seafood that almost spill off the plate. Although her style has become more comforting, her signature style of layer flavouring remains strong.
Chef Som may cleverly combine Indian spices with Chinese noodles or create classic Western dishes with a twist, like her Festive Chicken stuffed with lemons, curried rice and Sausage stuffing, apple chutney, mushroom gravy, and layered potatoes with incredible greens.
